Israel Railways News In protest of the firing of an IR employee, all employees in the Dimona station and its vicinity started a strike. Israel Railways sees this as a disciplinary infraction which "will be dealt with". CityPass Will Get NIS 150 mln. CityPass, the company building the Jerusalem Light Rail, will get NIS 120 mln. from the Ministry of Finance, and an additional 30 million. This is to cover the costs of delays in the line, following interferences by the government and the municipality of Jerusalem. Related links:

Memorial Day and Independence Day Startng yesterday evening, Memorial Day started in Israel, which will be followed by Independence Day later tonight. Petah Tikva Kiryat Aryeh Railway Station Opens On the evening of Saturday, May 3, 2008, the Petah Tikva Kiryat Aryeh Railway Station, near the Kiryat Aryeh Industrial Zone, quietly opened to the public. Initial reports claim that sometimes train drivers forget to stop at the station - typical. It appears that no official ceremony was made, maybe it will come some time after Independence Day on Thursday (May 8). The station is more than 1 km away from the nearest building, connected only by an access road, which makes access difficult (especially for pedestrians), although a new high-tech park is planned for the area.
