Posted on June 1, 2008 at 21:04 by Ynhockey

MTS requested a 4-month delay for the TA LRT project, because they can't end the financing stage. The problem is apparently with the banks, who blame it on the financial crisis in the US.

Israel Railways News

In protest of the firing of an IR employee, all employees in the Dimona station and its vicinity started a strike. Israel Railways sees this as a disciplinary infraction which "will be dealt with".

On a happier note, it appears that the construction of IR's new control center is on schedule, and it will open later this year. Shaul Mofaz, the current Minister of Transportation, visited the current control center in Haifa.

Petah Tikva Kiryat Aryeh Railway Station Opens
Posted on May 5, 2008 at 00:46 by Ynhockey

On the evening of Saturday, May 3, 2008, the Petah Tikva Kiryat Aryeh Railway Station, near the Kiryat Aryeh Industrial Zone, quietly opened to the public. Initial reports claim that sometimes train drivers forget to stop at the station - typical. It appears that no official ceremony was made, maybe it will come some time after Independence Day on Thursday (May 8).

The station is more than 1 km away from the nearest building, connected only by an access road, which makes access difficult (especially for pedestrians), although a new high-tech park is planned for the area.
